Inno+ delivers air scrubbers with an innovative heat recovery system to Kuijpers Kip in Horst aan de Maas

Sustainable chicken through extremely low emissions an energy-neutral poultry house
Kuijpers Kip has built a new production site for their Kloeke Kip broilers in Horst aan de Maas. This poultry house is currently the most sustainable and animal-friendly in the world. Inno+ supplied the air scrubbers and an innovative heat recovery system for this ultramodern poultry house. As a result, Kuijpers Kip amply meets the requirements for reducing odour, ammonia, fine dust, and germs.

Heat recovery makes poultry house energy-neutral

Thanks to the new heat recovery concept from Inno+, Kuijpers Kip also succeeds in producing chicken without the use of fuels.
Heat from adult animals is recovered and used to heat young chicks.

Kuijpers Kip will produce its Kloeke Kip in four age groups in Horst aan de Maas. With the new Inno+ Triple EEE system, Kuijpers Kip first cleans all the outgoing ventilation air. This reduces ammonia, PM10 and PM2.5 particulate matter, and germs. The outgoing ventilation air automatically heats up the scrub water in the air scrubber.

Through use of a specially developed Inno+ heat exchanger, Kuijpers Kip recovers the heat from the scrub water and uses it in two ways:
– Some of the recovered heat is used to preheat the incoming ventilation air. Kuijpers Kip can therefore continue to ventilate optimally even on cold days to handle moisture, draughts, and fluctuations in the house climate.
– The rest of the recovered heat is boosted to 45 °C via a heat pump. It is ideal for heating the barns. This extra warmth for the broiler chicks prevents health problems.

Thanks to the use of heat recovery via the Inno+ Triple EEE system, Kuijpers Kip can heat its poultry houses without using fossil fuels.

Most innovative climate and energy system in the world

For Panningen-based Inno+, delivery of the air scrubbers and heat recovery to Kuijpers Kip was one of its biggest orders in its history. The use of heat recovery for broiler chickens in different age groups is new and leading the way for the poultry industry of the future. The project is the first in a series of four that Kuijpers Kip is investing in. The development of the most sustainable and animal-friendly concept began with fifteen years of preparation.

Kloeke Kip is part of the New Mixed Farm, which consists of a pig farm as well as the Kuijpers Kip broiler farm. Inno+ will also supply the air scrubbers and Triple EEE heat recovery system for the pig farm.
