Here at INNO+ we believe in educating our colleagues, clients and dealers. As the saying goes, ‘Knowledge is power’, so our product and service teams have focused on building a training package to empower our dealers to deliver, for our customers.

Big Dutchman CompoLiner air scrubber

With an upcoming air scrubber installation in Portugal, Big Dutchman’s Operations Engineer, Frank Middendorf, stopped in at INNO+ for a day of training on the CompoLiner Composting system Air Scrubber. Fitted with our fully automated Global Controller, the system self regulates to monitor:

PH value of the process water, using sulphuric acid to maintain a pH of 2.
Water level monitoring to manage ‘refill and drainage’ requirements, through servo driven valves. Providing fresh water supply and removal of wastewater.
Water flow monitoring so the system can shut down when the process water filters are blocked.

Frank spent the day learning how the system operates. We covered areas such as:

Servicing – what is done and when
User level maintenance,
Dealer – preventative maintenance and fault finding.

Hands-on operation

A large part of commissioning is training the end user on safe and correct operation to ensure the very best performance. Therefore conveying how the unit operates, the control mechanisms, wiring, software, hardware and how it all works together. Builds the confidence to be more hands on when operating our air scrubbers.

Emission reductions up to 98%

When the unit arrives at the client’s site in Portugal, Frank will set it up to clean the air from the Big Dutchman CompoLiner. This is often coming in at 300ppm of Ammonia (NH3). Due to such high concentrations, the air is dangerous. The air scrubber will reduce these emissions as much as 98% of Ammonia from the outgoing air along with any fine dust and smell.

Circular Agriculture – Green compost and fertilizer

With this training experience under his belt, Frank is now ready to commission these systems globally helping farmers to sustainably produce high quality compost, as well as the Air Scrubber providing the valuable by-product of, Ammonium Sulphate (NH4)2SO4, a nitrogen rich ‘Green’ fertiliser.
