Home Knowledge base Inno+ celebrates 20th anniversary!

On April 15, 2023, Inno+ will celebrate its 20th anniversary. The company, which specializes in sustainable solutions for the agricultural sector, looks back on 20 successful years full of innovation and growth. And more importantly, Inno+ looks ahead, to the future full of innovative solutions.

From start-up to market leader in innovative barn concepts

Inno+ is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The company began in 2003 as a small start-up and has since grown into a market leader and global player in the field of innovative barn technologies that on the one hand reduce ammonia, odor and particulate matter and on the other hand improve energy consumption and provide an optimal climate for animal farmers. These competencies have enabled us to achieve a number of important milestones over the past two decades. One of the biggest reasons for Inno+’s success is its team of dedicated and experienced employees. The company is immensely proud of its team and the contribution they have made to achieving these milestones. Inno+ has always believed in the importance of teamwork and likes to invest in the development of its employees. In doing so, we should certainly not forget the important contribution of owners from the very beginning: Michel Stienen and Sjaak van der Linden. Together with current owner Maurice Ortmans, they were a strong trinity in the early years.

The first customers in 2003

An important milestone in the Inno+ success story was the success of one of the first clients: Van Zeeland in Gemert. Together with this client the Terra-Sea system was developed for broilers. The Terra-Sea system uses various techniques to greatly reduce energy consumption and achieve an optimal climate in the house. This improves technical results and reduces emissions of ammonia, odor and particulate matter. The success of this system for this customer generated a lot of national and international attention. The customer base has grown considerably in the following years to an impressive list of national and international customers.

Big Dutchman

In 2016, Inno+ was partially acquired by the German company Big Dutchman. Maurice Ortmans remained on board as director and co-shareholder, and Michel Stienen and Sjaak van der Linden stepped down as shareholders at the time. This acquisition gave the company the opportunity to standardize its concepts, grow further and start selling its technologies worldwide. Inno+ is now active in more than 20 countries and continues to invest in new technologies and concepts to help its clients in a challenging market.

Innovation is in our DNA

The sector in which Inno+ operates is constantly changing and there is much potential for further growth and development. Inno+ views the future of the sector positively and remains committed to sustainability, efficiency and animal welfare. The company continues to invest in research and development to provide innovative solutions that contribute to a better performance of the sector. Maurice Ortmans: “We always want to be the innovator of the market. We know very well where things can go and what is possible. And there is often much more possible than livestock farmers think. The market is always a bit behind or initially hesitant or still ignorant. With our concepts and certainly with our thoughts, we have been far ahead of time and now too there are very interesting developments. It is great to see that the market has picked up on it and that we are working on this together on a daily basis with a very nice and committed team.” All in all, Inno+ can look back proudly on its first 20 years. The company has achieved important milestones and remains committed to further growth and development of the sector.
